Welcome to My Soy Candles Blog Production & Sales!

Updated: Jun 30, 2024

Hello Candle Lovers! I'm Gail! And I'm a wanna-be self-made home business, small businesswoman. I'm blogging to let you know about me and my business, my struggles (so you can avoid the same ones), and my dreams for the future.

In our old Black Forest, Colorado home I made my first attempt to create homemade candles. Unfortunately, that house burnt down in the Black Forest Fire of June 11, 2013. I had bought a bag of red, scented wax beads and about a dozen small jelly jars from a local craft store. I used regular string for the wicks and melted the wax beads inside the jars by placing them in my oven. It was a disaster. I was soooo clueless.

The photo above was taken in our new home at the dining room table. That's when I got mildly serious, ordering supplies from actual candle supply websites, mostly http://lonestarcandlesupply.com and what is now known as https://www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com, particularly the rustic escentuals fragrances.

Now, I'm SUPER serious. I have converted one of my bedrooms into a production and sales room. It has a creation/melting station, a wicking/pouring station, and a real desk (not a dining table) for labelling/business work. All of my supplies are in there and not scattered all over the house. And my candles are displayed proudly in there.
